We will create a basic overbust corset guided by the Victorian hourglass silhouette commonly found in modern corsetry. We will be using a combination of spiral and flat steel boning, a front busk, and grommets. We will use a standard pattern and adjust it to fit your measurements. The course takes you from measuring and cutting the pattern, to creating a mockup to test the fit, and all the way through the construction steps for the corset. This will be a video based format with lessons from Daisy Viktoria, explaining and demonstrating each step of the corset making process. We will include live Q&A sessions each week where you can ask questions about that week’s lesson.

We are offering this course with and without materials included. Due to current shipping times and logistics, materials are limited to US addresses only!

Materials will include all items specific to corset making. Please note you will still need your own: sewing machine, scissors, tape measure, pins, thread, seam ripper, any fabric marking pencils or other tools you like to use.

Select black or white twill as your fashion fabric. Please note you are welcome to use your own fashion fabric if desired. I recommend twill for this first corset, as it lends itself very well to corset making.

I have been making corsets for 17 years and have created corsets of various styles, both modern and fantasy to historical. Over the years, I have developed and honed my skills, and I would love to share them with you!

I have taught corset making, as well as various costuming and sewing classes in person, and I am so excited to bring this online corset making class to you!
